Defalt on Compassion

It is natural to feel upset when someone unintentionally offends us, such as cutting in line at the grocery store or a neighbour playing loud music. However, it is essential to let go of our self-righteousness and not allow such situations to disturb our inner peace. As Ajahn Chah wisely said, we must avoid getting entangled in the chaos around us.

For this season, I am committed to prioritising stillness and compassion, knowing that it will bring me peace and strength to navigate through any challenges that may arise and unlock opportunities for personal growth.

If you want to impact today positively, why not begin by practising compassion and offering assistance without judgment? Trust me, it can make a significant difference in building strong relationships and fostering mutual understanding, allowing for more tolerance towards people's shortcomings.

Here are some helpful tips for developing and nurturing compassion in yourself and others:

  1. Speak with kindness.

  2. Forgive people for making mistakes.

  3. Accept people for who they are.

  4. Apologise when you've made a mistake.

  5. Listen carefully and without judgment.

  6. Encourage other people.

  7. Offer to help someone with a task.

  8. Be happy for someone else's success.
